If you're looking for a character encyclopedia of all the different characters in the franchise (including the assorted skins from FNAF AR), then this is a great book for you。 If you're looking for lore drops, I'm not sure how much you're going to find。 I certainly don't recall seeing anything。 I did, however, learn that Mangle is in fact, male, even though he (she?) was featured in the "Ladies' Night" Challenge in FNAF 2。I don't think all the alternate AR skins needed their own listings (could If you're looking for a character encyclopedia of all the different characters in the franchise (including the assorted skins from FNAF AR), then this is a great book for you。 If you're looking for lore drops, I'm not sure how much you're going to find。 I certainly don't recall seeing anything。 I did, however, learn that Mangle is in fact, male, even though he (she?) was featured in the "Ladies' Night" Challenge in FNAF 2。I don't think all the alternate AR skins needed their own listings (could have been lumped together either by character or by theme (like all the Heatwave skins listed on one page), but it was still cool to see them all, especially as I haven't played that game。As a final aside, I found two typos (although, now I can't remember what page) and I secretly suspect that might lead to some sort of hidden message。 They weren't misspelled words so much as "the wrong word," like if it was supposed to say "。。。Happiest Day Minigame" and it said "Happiest Time Minigame" and either Time or Day would be part of the hidden message。 I'm not entirely sure, but with a series like FNAF, it's hard to say that a typo is just a typo。 。。。more

Oh, how I have a love-hate relationship with the FNAF books。 I was really hoping for more from this one。 Should I have hoped for more, probably not, but the internet was really hyping this one up。 Spoiler alert not as much lore as everyone was thinking, but still some。 So what is actually in this book? Well as it says it is a character encyclopedia, it covers all of (for the most part) the animatronics from the FNAF universe。 So it has all the games FNAF 1- Security Breach (minus FNAF World), the Silver eyes novel trilogy, and The Fazbear Frights novels (sort of)。 Near the end, it leans more towards characters as we have humans included but that is ok。 I would also like to mention here that the book is pretty funny。 It has 1-3 little jokes per character separated out like little one-line zingers。 Like Vanny's say "Giving you a false sense of security", "Isn't cosplay meant to be a bit of harmless fun", and "Wow, eating carrots really does help you see in the dark。" Like some of these are pretty funny for certain characters。 Some feel a little lore-ish but they are mostly jokes for kids。 They more than anything set the tone of the book。Now for my ,for the most part, comment。 Not every character is in here as you would think from the title。 Sure most characters are here and there is a surprising amount of Special Delivery skins, which I really don't think should count unless someone can give me a good reason for them to be here instead of other distinct characters from the books。 The main cast of all the games is here as well as a lot of minor players like, JJ and Dark Springtrap。 But there are definitely people missing。 For example, Ella, Stanley, and Theador from the novel trilogy are not included despite them being in the Freddy Files。 This book does have the silver eyes trilogy included because it covers all of the twisted animatronics, though I don't think in really mentioned the charlie bots。 It was also kind of selective with which of the Fazbear's Frights characters got to be included。 It had sea bonnies, yarg foxy, and Lonley Freddy but it didn't have things like Fetch, Ella (again), the bunny from Bunny Call, and a few others。 That part really does confuse me。 Most of the Fazbears frights do just reuse characters already discussed like Ballora, glitchtrap, and Foxy but several have new animatronics that just for some reason don't make the cut。 It is weird how they picked some to include and others to exclude at seemingly random。 Again like why include the Yarg foxy, which is literally just a plush, and not the actual animatronic dog Fetch? Now the important question that we have all been waiting for, is there lore? The answer is sort of。 The lore in this book is a lot more in the area of confirmation of details and hints as to importance。 Like both Shadow Freddy and Shadow bonnie's pages say some interesting things about those two。 Implying that they are creatures of remnant。 Is that necessarily stated outright, no but it is implied and a thing we have speculated about。 The crying child's page also confirms that he is the playable character from fnaf 4, and as I am typing this I realized that Michal Afton does not have a page at all while both Elizabeth and William do, again another weird omission because he is definitely in the games。 I also thought that a line from William's page was interesting。 It said that the bit at the beginning of sister location where Afton is explaining the features of Circus Baby that is him talking to a "member of the Fazbear Entertainment Board"。 Just throwing that out there because I think that a solid thorough line of a good timeline is built on the corporate side of Fazbear entertainment and I find them as a corporation amusing and deserving of further study。 And it really is just things like that, occasionally a character has an interesting line snuck in that can be telling about things like timelines or mysteries but not all of them do and most of them don't。 I also want to take a moment to discuss the weird organization of this book。 Like it starts out in a sort of character-by-character arrangement with all of the Freddys together and all of the Bonnies together。 But then it kind of devolves。 Mangle is near the end and not by Foxy which they should be。 Twisted wolf was not next to Roxy, but the sea bonnies got to be in the bonnie section。 William Afton is not next to the spring trap, glitch trap, and dark spring trap but he is near burntrap。 The character's from sister location and pizza sim are mixed together wierdly。 The human characters in the book are near each other but again Michal Afton is not in here at all but Henry is。 The book also has a weird amount of knowledge about how characters relate to the ones they turn into at different times。 Like it acknowledges that Elizabeth is Circus Baby on Elizabeth and Ennard's pages but not on Circus Baby's or Scrap Baby's page。 Also, Elanore made the cut and is in Curcus Bab's section but the version of Baby from the novels that is the last Chalie bot is not here。 Some other miscellaneous things of interest: All found while doing a final flip-through of the book backward to get some more small things that didn't make it into the overarching scope of the review but are interesting and I want to share。- Vanny/Vannessa are put together- Henry has a new look (and one of his pictures on his page is I think Afton from the graphic novel adaptations but I could be wrong)- Charlie's page uses images from the novel trilogy but only discusses Charlotte in terms of the game universe and her possession of the puppet。 With only a passing mention of her Silver eyes role。- New Elizabeth art, and an implication that she is in the fourth closet novel。- crying child also has new art and an all-around interesting page of confirmation- The Blob and Burntrap are both not cannon names yet used in this book。- The book doesn't appear to want to commit to William Afon being Springtrap followed by him turning into burn trap but we 100% know that he is。 - all of Williams images are of scrap trap and none of his purple sprite- Vendor Bots: interesting classification, Fruit Punch for Everyone, SpiggJAM- some of the inclusions from Sister location & Pizza Sim are strange and require further study for their importance- Music Man, DJ Music Man, and mini-music man were apparently not different enough to warrant separate pages instead being squished into just one appearance of music man from Pizza Sim (but chocolate bonnie got a page)- Old man consequences continues to go very much unexplained- I like to think that the call out of Nedd Bears tie is in reference to a Backseat video- The Mediocre Melodies have a stand-alone page as a group and then each of them is discussed and it describes their group in an interesting way- it is apparently Mr。 Cupcake- the Stitchwraith looks cool - the book didn't play the mangle pronoun game and it makes me sad- I'm shocked the minirina page doesn't mention them crawling inside of people- Ballora's page may have a picture of her crawling around but it doesn't mention that she crawls around like a spider which is a fact more people need to know- I really don't think all of these AR skins deserve pages or count as characters- is Elanoe a version of Baby, mixed signals- it is really weird that Circus Babies page does not mention Elizabeth but it does say what she does to her- Springtrap's page is very cagey and acts like we all know nothing。 Like yes this is the spring bonnie suit and yes William Afton is dead inside of it, don't be coy- do endo skeletons count as characters?- lucky boy = balloon boy ?- Shadow Puppet- you know from the fnaf 3 secret 8-bit mini game mangle's quest, again weird choice/confirmation/inclusions。- Funtime Foxy: dual personalityAnd as a final addendum I definitely though up at leat 10 animatronic characters from Faxbear's Frights novels that definitely should have made the cut over if not along with the sea bonnies and all of the AR skins definitely don't count as different characters that should have made the cut over these guys。 。。。more
